The KOVE 800X PRO is the evolution for those looking for an even more intense off-road experience , thanks to 240mm multi-adjustable KYB suspension , ground clearance that increases to 275mm and top-notch features such as Taisko radial calipers, floating discs , Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres and traction control .

As per KOVE tradition, the 800X PRO stands out from all its competitors for its extremely low weight: we are talking about 190kg in running order with a full tank of fuel (182kg without petrol), including sump guard, frame bars and luggage rack, therefore 20 to 50kg less than its direct competitors with the same equipment. And as off-road enthusiasts know well, weight is a fundamental component in the dynamics of the motorbike, especially when leaving the asphalt and tackling the most challenging sections, which is why the 800X PRO was born. A weight that was certainly not obtained by skimping on the components, just note the fully adjustable KYB fork with 48mm tubes and 240mm travel , well above the average for the segment, but above all by using quality materials , reducing non-essential components and creating a more compact motorbike than average.

And so we come to the engine, a compact 799cc parallel twin , with 8 valves , double camshaft and 270° timing , which is no coincidence the most widespread configuration for several years, given that it mixes weight, size and low costs , with easy positioning in the frame, better centralisation of the masses and optimisation of the centre of gravity , as well as reduced heat emission , with the pleasantness of power delivery typical of a V-twin. A compact engine , with a low sump height, which allows for a minimum distance from the ground of 275mm (higher than all the competition) , without raising the centre of gravity and the height of the saddle , which at 865mm remains average, making the bike accessible to most .

A short-stroke engine , capable of delivering 95 hp at 9000 rpm and 80Nm of torque at 7500 rpm , with the possibility of selecting one of 4 riding modes: COMFORT / RAIN / SPORT / OFF-ROAD , for the best power delivery in all conditions, but not only, with adjustable and excludable traction control .

The gearbox is naturally 6-speed and the clutch is anti-slip .

And let’s move on to the wheels , in the classic 21″ front and 18″ rear sizes, which use Tubeless Akront rims with tangential spokes of the tubeless type , which represent an essential safety in every situation (except enduro racing, but for that the 800X Rally is available). Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres are fitted , which represent an excellent compromise between asphalt and off-road, they are in fact among the most used as original equipment by many manufacturers, but thanks to the 90/90-21 sizes at the front and 150/70-18 at the rear, there is a huge range of alternative rubber, from pure track to aggresive mud/sand tyres.

The braking department is also top notch , boasting a powerful pair of Taisko 4-piston radial calipers , which bite into twin 320mm floating discs at the front , accompanied at the rear by a 240mm single-piston caliper .

A powerful and modular system, obviously equipped with switchable ABS , which can be cancelled, as the terrain become more challenging, with two simple clicks in the menu.

All supported by a sturdy open-cradle steel frame , which uses the engine to find the right mix of stiffness and flexibility, combined with a long, light aluminium swingarm .

Moving on to the instrumentation , we find a large 7-inch color TFT , also at the top of its class and complete with everything you could want, including tyre pressure alert and GPS navigation that uses Bluetooth mirroring from the smartphone, via a dedicated app , facilitated in viewing by the vertical orientation of the screen. Smartphones and/or action-cams can both be easily powered, through the USB and USB-C sockets available in the dashboard.

We then come to the bodywork , tight and minimalist, designed mainly by its function, but with a front that strongly recalls the 450 Rally. They are made of impact-resistant plastic and thanks to the fairing and the protective hood, they allow for respectable road comfort, during the inevitable transfers between trails.

Even the tank , again in plastic and that extends downwards, favouring the centre of gravity, never hinders the forward riding position, through bends and uphill, as well as the seat with the most linear possible trend and narrow sides, to favor the body movements, while offering the necessary comfort to both the rider and the passenger. There are two colours available: Matt Green or Frozen Grey.

And let’s move on to the equipment , all in the name of lightness , starting from a lithium battery , from the solid and light aluminum luggage rack with built-in passenger handles, from the ingenious side protective bars , also in aluminum, which thanks to a through bolt in the fairing, offer maximum protection, with minimum weight and visual impact.

Also in 3mm aluminum is the sturdy sump guard , as well as the brake/gear levers , the exhaust/passenger footrest supports, the side stand and even the rearview mirrors, always with a view to saving weight , where possible.

Another gem practically unknown to the competition is the steering damper , placed with little emphasis, but a lot of effectiveness, under the lower steering plate.

Also noteworthy are the risers that allow the handlebars to be moved forward or back by 2cm and the adjustable brake lever on the handlebars , up to the removable rubber protectors on the serrated footrests for the rider.
