WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A THROTTLE LOCK AND A CRUISE CONTROL?
A cruise control is an electronic instrument which can accelerate or decelerate your motorcycle to compensate for inclines or declines in a road. Cruise controls are directly connected to your motorcycle's electrical system and speedometer. If your bike doesn't have a cruise control built into it, it will be very expensive to add one, that is, if your motorcycle is new enough to accept a cruise control.
A throttle lock, on the other hand, simply "locks" your throttle in one place, preventing the throttle housing springs from rotating the throttle back to neutral. It doesn't compensate for inclines or declines in the road and is a better aftermarket solution for 99% of motorcycles. To clarify, the ATLAS doesn't "lock" your throttle, it simply applies pressure to hold your throttle in place.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I'M IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION WITH MY ATLAS FULLY ENGAGED?
The ATLAS is designed to be easily overridden while fully engaged. This means you can engage the ATLAS, adjust your speed by slightly rotating the throttle, or fully roll the throttle forward to come to a complete stop.
It only applies enough friction to overcome the throttle body's springs. It doesn't actually lock anything, it just holds it in place. So, in case of an emergency, you would grab the throttle and roll it forward, just as you would if the ATLAS wasn't engaged on your motorcycle.
Fits all Africa Twin CRF1000 Models:
2016/17 CRF1000 - Manual and DCT Engines
2018> CRF1000 - Manual and DCT Engines
2018> CRF1000 Adventure Sport - Manual and DCT Engines
DOES THE ATLAS WORK WITH HEATED GRIPS?
Why, yes it does!
This is one other reason why we call the ATLAS a Universal Throttle Lock. The ATLAS mounts to your bike's throttle sleeve, not the grip. Heated grips also mount to the throttle sleeve, which means you can fit both the ATLAS and heated grips on your bike!
(and yes it fits with BarkBuster Handguards as well)
Ride With The Best
The ATLAS isn’t simply a novel design, like some other throttle locks. The ATLAS is the most universal and intuitive throttle lock ever made, built for motorcycle world travel. It will be the last throttle lock you’ll ever need to buy.
Better Materials Make Better Products
The ATLAS Throttle Lock is made of hardened stainless steel and will last the life of your motorcycle. These high quality materials allow us to laser cut extremely thin parts while maintaining strength and resilience.
What Is This Thing?
Are you wondering what this black chunk of metal is for? Well, it’s a mechanical cruise control for your motorcycle. It’s called a throttle lock, which can be misleading because it doesn’t actually “lock” the throttle of your motorcycle.
When it’s engaged it simply holds your throttle in any position you leave it in. When you want to adjust your speed, simply rotate the throttle like normal. It uses pressure and friction to prevent the throttle from rotating freely.
If you’re drawn to the reliability and engineering of Honda motorcycles, then you are going to immediately connect with the ATLAS Throttle Lock.
The clean lines and intuitive design of the ATLAS will make your helmet time much more enjoyable.
How does it work?
First off, the ATLAS is clamped to the plastic throttle tube, between your rubber grip flange and the throttle housing. The ATLAS Throttle Lock has two buttons. One to engage the unit and another to disengage the unit. When the ATLAS is engaged, a friction pad on a stainless steel tab presses against the throttle housing.
You can override the ATLAS at all times. The ATLAS Throttle Lock doesn’t disengage when you rotate the throttle. We did this intentionally so you can make incremental speed adjustments as you ride.
Who cares?
We do. We offer a 2 year manufacturer warranty. Our aim is to ensure that you are happy with the ATLAS Throttle Lock.
Simple Installation
Leave the grips, bar ends, handguards and Dremel alone! The ATLAS Throttle Lock bolts on to your throttle tube with minimal effort. Our intelligent ratcheting mechanism will clamp the ATLAS to any throttle tube diameter, from 7/8” to 1-1/4”.

By far THE best throttle lock I’ve ever bought. From the cheap plastic paddle to the Kaoko lock, I’ve tried or bought them all, but the Atlas is the daddy for me. Simple to fit, simple in operation, it’s a superb manual throttle lock. Although it’s expensive, it’s well worth the investment.
